Chronic Leg Ulcer complicated by Cellulitis

"During March 2000, I cut my ankle whilst closing a fly screen door. The cut continued to deteriorate and turned into an ulcer.

Wound dressings by the district nurse and antibiotics from my local doctor did not resolve the ulcer.

My leg and ankle continued to get worse developing cellulitis which was extremely painful and swollen. I spent the next 10 days in hospital with constant nursing care but my condition did not improve and continued to deteriorate.

I was eventually recommended to attend Dr Hooper and commenced Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy, medication, acupuncture and vitamin injections. This was physically very difficult for me, because I have several hours of travel by car each way to Melbourne to receive treatment. Progress was initially very slow because I also was suffering anemia.

The condition has now completely resolved, and I now attend about every 4-6 weeks as a preventative maintenance. I have no doubt that the treatment I received was life saving, and the only treatment that responded to the ailment. Sincerely - Mrs M Ridd."
